Tathāgata

As we read in today's Gospel, Our Lord in His Incarnation is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets:
Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray. While he was praying his face changed in appearance and his clothing became dazzling white. And behold, two men were conversing with him, Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory and spoke of his exodus that he was going to accomplish in Jerusalem.
-- Luke

What was this new exodus which Our Lord was going to accomplish?

God had led Israel forth from slavery under Pharaoh, through the desert of Sinai, across the River Jordan, and into the Promised Land. Christ leads us forth from slavery to sin and death under Satan, through His patient Passion and the self-emptying kenosis of His Crucifixion, down through the Harrowing of Hell, to His Resurrection, and thus the Kingdom of His Father, where death shall have no dominion.

Slavery to sin and death need not be our lot. Follow the Liberator. Join the exodus!
